in the hands of God
February 14, 2005
My cousin is in the Peace Corps stationed on a tiny island in the Pacific Ocean, it is about to be engulfed in a cyclone. She reported home about this before it started in earnest and while I am concerned about her I have to disagree with what she said when she made the comment, at some point you have to stop praying and start preparing. I have to depart from her in this moment, "at some point you have to stop trusting yourself and ride things out in the hands of God." A prayer for her is on the tip of my tongue and deep in my heart. All other concerns and things to write about are now whispers.
I will never get anything done at this point.
