Link hopping and ended up here. Oh, I wish the peace activists were't of the poser variety. You had me until the Bush part being an accomplished leader. I think he will be remembered quite differently than just a President who opposed gay marriage. But my Daddy told me to try to get along with people and not argue politics or religion, so I digress. Your journal (as much as I have read so far) is quite interesting. More men need to blog. It's fascinating!

What I love about 100 lists is that they give a more well-rounded picture of the people, much better than just reading posts. It shows the past, present, dreams, fears,etc...I always learn so much. As someone extremely older than you, I must give you some advice. 1. Don't ever read Joyce unless you have to. I had to read Portrait of the Artist as a Young man in college and hated it. 2. If you are looking for creative thinking and enjoy sci-fi, you can't go wrong with Heinlein or Isaac Asimov. Dune is also a great book. I have read the whole series--go ahead, call me a nerd! 3.On the Beach and Alas, Babylon are two wonderful books. I cried through both of them, but enjoyed them greatly. 4. I liked what I read of D.H. Lawrence in college. 5. Our older daughter, "hippie chick", loves Kurt Vonnegut and Slaughterhouse 5. 5. As for being a virgin, I admire you more than I can ever say for putting that on your list. You are truly THE MAN! 6. Go, Dean!!

Thank you for the 100 lists -- both about you and the novels. I skimmed through it and realized that at this point in my life, I have read most of those, but wouldn't it be fun to go back and fill in the blanks, and maybe reread some of those that I read, 20-30 years ago. Thanks for the inspiration. And as for Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, I liked it...and good thing, I had to read it in college in no fewer than 4 classes! I think I might have changed majors if one more class had required it! On the other hand, I never read Ulysses, although I bought it, literally 25 years ago and started it half a dozen times. The sheer volume of it always stops me.

I have gotten lazy in my old age. I used to read all the time but now I wait for the movie. That said, the books "The stand" and "It" are so much better than the movies. I read "The stand" years ago and made the statement that if they ever made a movie from it that it would have to be a mini-series. They could not have possibly fit that all into two hours. They didn't try. I believe it was a 4 or 5 part series. The book was still much better.

Great 100 Things list. A few of notes, though: 1) I am, in fact, envious of your blue eyes; I'd steal them for myself if I could. 2) Even though violence is never the answer, Ronald McDonald IS scary and it made me laugh that you got in trouble for hitting him. 3) Why are you afraid of peanut butter? 4) As "ghetto" as they can often be, I'd go to Friendly's with you! :)

I love Friendly's for ice cream, but I'd rather go to Denny's for lunch or supper. Friendly's used to be the lunch of choice, but they stopped serving crinkly fries, so why bother?

Thank you for including #35 in your list. I keep assuring my daughters that all guys are not dogs; now I have proof!

Wow! That's a lot of stuff. And its really funny to me that I knew a lot of it... there were many things I did not know as well. :-)

All 100 were very interesting. It is hard coming up with 100 things about yourself...and yet you did with all of them being interesting.....I didn't know your sister lives with you.
