Silhouettes
Today in class we made silhouettes continuing our study of life in the American Colonies before the revolution. One of the things that colonists did, because most people couldnt afford to have a portrait made by a painter was have their silhouette done. Im fighting the loosing battle of making Social Studies interesting but its far from being the best thing since wrestling.
So, we made these silhouettes and making silhouettes is the hardest thing Ive done as a teacher. I had to get six ten-year-old boys to sit still long enough to trace their shadows.
Its a feat of genius that they look like the boys at all, but I think theyre freakishly good.
