Karmic retribution for the past wrongdoings done to your ancestors is no excuse to take advantage of, make fun of, or laugh at someone else in today's privileged society. I hate people like that. I believe in women's rights, but I don't believe in putting down men to do it. Poor boy.

Feminism is about equality, not supremacy. And if there is ONE THING that schools need it is more sympathetic-to-puberty teachers. Puberty is such a scarring time in life - so, so, so much can go wrong that leads to crazy adult insecurities. Well, you know - "One thing" being besides more money for supplies and teacher salaries, etc. But I had particularly insensitive, idiotic teachers and I curse their existence TO THIS DAY. To this day, Christopher. That's insane. I shoulda had a teacher like you.

I agree with you. The same can be said about other idiotic statements made by adults. I had a lazy eye when I was little. You would be surprised at how many adults feel the need to point and laugh at a seven year old and ask, "Are you looking at me, or over there??" Ya, no accounting for brains.

You were right. There's no excuse to talk to children with that kind of thoughtlessness.

Thanks for telling that teacher she was totally in the wrong. There should be more teachers (and adults for that matter) like you in the world.

One of the poor 5th grade boys voice cracked during musical try-outs today. I thought it was cute, but did not point it out to anyone. :-)

I'm surprised you are still alive to tell the tale.

Yeah, I agree with Suburban Island. Surprised she didn't deck you. I sincerely hope there are no little Spritopher Voodoo dolls being made tonight...

I really agree with you on this one... never ever should anyone, let alone an adult working with children comment on a person's physical anything! I enjoy your journal a lot! Thanks for the read!

Wow, I can't believe you said that to the teacher. You have bigger balls than I do. But, then again, I don't have balls.

To be honest, even though I never commented on a young boy's voice cracking, I never really thought about how people point that out to them vs. people not pointing out to a girl that she's developing. You always have a great way of putting things into perspective, Chris.

eeekkk thanks for the lesson there! I hate to admit it but I could see myself jokeing about puberty issues - such as the voice squeeking and never giving it a second thought. But your so right! It is as rude as pointing out the boobage issue PS LOVE THE HOMOR banner
