I bought and watched Master and Commander not 3 months ago. Darned if I can remeber any of it now!

Ah, adventures in NY. We had a few ourselves this past summer. Fortunately, my husband lived there for a year while in the military and still remembered where everything was. thus, he took us everywhere and it was very easy for us. I do think that mental institutions released their patients onto the streets in NY; we met up with many interesting characters who would not normally see the light of day.

I also had an uncomfortable encounter today. I was looking for photo-ops in Hollywood and I found a shop that sold magic candles, good luck charms and the like. I was particularly delighted by a bar of soap with Regis Philbin's likeness and text in Spanish that seemed to promise the purchaser would become a millionaire (Everything there was in Spanish, so I couldn't be sure). Naturally, I wanted to take a picture or two, but the owner became nasty and, I didn't press the matter, as this is a pretty dodgy neighborhood. By the way, if you enjoyed the bust of me at the Met Museum, you'll really love the bronze casting they made of me at the Museum of Miniatures. Cheers, Alex
