I think it is wonderful that you got these wonderful heirlooms - the watch and the scrabble game. The inheritance is just in time for school! I want to see both those films. Good use of a shower curtain.

Dude, despite the flak I gave it, Sky Captain was an entertaining movie. It made me giggle. And Angelina Jolie is, in my opinion, the coolest cyclops around.

The watch was given to my father for his birthday since according to his still-living grandmother "It shouldn't skip generations" but in giving it to my father it stays on generational track AND I get it eventually. It's the inheretance I keep inheriting.

Well I saw the trailer (enjoyed it) and am eager to see what isnlikely to be the last Star Wars film. I am glad that Lucas isn't going in an "Ewok" direction as he did to close out the last trilogy, instead he s going for a darker than "Empire" approach. I have the feeling that this film will be extremely grim to show as a mirror opposite to A New Hope. Thinking about all of this has me wanting to wwatch the Hidden Fortress and read Hero With A 1000 Faces and the Golden Bough again, as to into a Lucas mindset.

I have Star Wars issues because my mother made no secret that she had the hots for Darth Vadar when I was in the 4th grade watching The Empire Strikes back. Now I'm like, "My mother has a thing for James Earl Jones?" That's just wrong on so many levels. Congratulations. It's nice to know a little something came your way. :)

Ok, so - that watch sounds wicked. I wish I got something like that - I think when my grandmother died, I got an emerald necklace. Beautiful, indeed, but I would have loved something like that watch. AND - I've been a little lazy reading the blogs lately - you're applying to grad school? What's up? How exciting!

I don't think it's right to raise a kid like that, but I have no qualms about people raising their kids to believe in God. Does that make me a hypocrite? Ack! So confused.

Aren't Grandmas great and isn't it the coolest to be the oldest. My Granny died on Xmas eve at 100 years old. She too saved money for all of us grandchildren and it sure is more than I would have ever thought...what a surprise. Also, because I am the oldest, I inherited the coolest stuff...I also got a railroad pocket watch from Grandpap...but not a civil war era watch...still I got the best heirlooms.

Nice inheritance--you're rich now, huh? I got a very cool man's pocket watch from my grandparents while they were still alive, since I was the most responsible of their grandchildren. As the first grandchild to graduate from college, I also hauled in lots of because of that.
