I very much agree that children should not be rewarded so heavily for doing what is expected of them. Rewards for doing above and beyond, maybe. But I also favor the "parents pay" thing. Maybe that will make some parents start actually parenting.

Ew. The West Wing. Martin Sheen makes my panties ride up my butt crack. I don't know how or why but he does. I avoid him whenever possible! But Alias was pre-empted due to the S of the U! That cannot happen again! I feel slightly un-American for preferring Sydney Bristow to such an important speech. But that's just ME! I feel guilt over squashing a mosquito sometimes.

Of course, you are a fantastic teacher, and you need no performance review to tell you that! I love your epidemic of stupidity stories. In high school, they're not as funny, and much more malicious or even dangerous.

But then again, in high school the ones being considered for awards generally don't get into fights. I'm in a GT (Gifted and Talented) program at my school, and as one fellow GT kid so eloquently put it... "We're the Academy. The Chess Team makes fun of us." For the most part, we're too busy doing our AP Calc 2 homework and discussing the virtues of different colleges to get into much trouble. ^_^

I thought they were going to give the instructionally-challenged musician the heave-ho? She's still there? I'm with Terri regarding The West Wing. Meh. Escapism is my viewing rule.
