That is always my biggest question, why do they always believe the mother?? I'm glad you were contacted, even if it was not too pleasant.

I can relate. I spent an hour on the horn with a principal discussing the merits of an "interference with child custody case". It sadden me to hear him say "the kid is a wonderful and remarkable person, in spite of his horrible parents".

Thank you for telling the truth and being willing to speak up for the best of the child(ren). As much as I hope the mother gets what is coming to her, even more I hope the children receive the care and love they deserve.

I know plenty of single mothers who are like the mother you described. They cannot see past themselves and they end up doing damage to their children because they are so self consumed they don't realize (or choose to ignore) that their own children have needs.

Heck, I knew you'd say the right thing. It's no longer a given that the mother gets the children. Hopefully the father will hire the agency to do a home assessment...if he doesn't perhaps you could put a little bug in his ear to do so. Ps...I love you too =]
