It's unbelievable taht he would have offering envelopes in his hand at that moment- just proves what he wants. I would be SURE not to join now. When a church is all about money, its doomed to fail. That's how I feel about my place right now.

There's something about Mary! You're always right, as disappointing as the truth is (sometimes).

The minister should be ashamed of the treatment, or lack thereof, you have received. A minister who has not visited the needy in his church makes for a very sad statement. Obviously, it is a job and not a calling for him. This is one of the reasons we are searching for a new church. Very sad indeed. I am sorry they do not treat you like you deserve.

Please send cash - here's an envelope too. I like what you asked him and I wish he could have answered you. You don't have to worship where you work in this case. It sounds like this congregation and the minister should be demanding a bit more of themselves.

I thought spermaphobia was the fear of...err...swallowing if you get my drift. Sorry, that was terribly naughty!

I would never eat at a potluck. I can barely eat at a relatives house for fear of germs. What else does a minister have to do besides minister to the congregation and give a sermon once a week. If he can't manage to do his job and the congregation is not supportive then it does not fit the description of a "church family" does it. It is more of a "church depository" for your money.

Spermaphobia, eh? LOL....yup thats me! Just thinking of how the food may have been prepared without the benefit of a good scrubbing of the hands and area makes a person wanna puke. ~~~As for the Pastor...I had a dreadful run in with a Priest here once [hardly surprising I know], but when I called for spiritual help, he gave me some old adages his mother use to say!!!!! ~~~I told him I could care a rats a$$ about his mother and called the Diocese's immediately afterwards....and since I was on such a wonderful roll, I even wrote to Ridge, expressing my disgust....this was, sadly to say[haha], long before Diaryland.
