Track Moms and Soccer Moms have jobs as well, and they care for those kids while other moms go out of the home and work in an office. Soccer Mom's and Track mom's office are wherever they are and they work ten times harder than most men I know.

I do have great guilt riding around in my gas-guzzling tank. We have even talked about trading it in for a sedan, but we keep running up against the "what if so-and-so and so-and-so and their girlfriends want to come with us when we ..." I try to not take it personally when people complain about "soccer moms." I know I am lucky my husband busts his hump so I can be home and do these things for our kids. Sometimes people say things and mean something quite different. I like to give that benefit of the doubt and keep my lucky mouth shut!

Your perspective is so correct. Speaking from a perspective of someone who worked while kids were in daycare, it is SO much easier to be at work than to be at home with the kids. Not that I didn't work hard & at the time, it had to be done, but mom's like Yvonne do so much and get so little credit. I'm sure her husband busts his rear, yet Yvonne busts hers as well. The other person was speaking purely out of jealousy/envy. SUV's are gas guzzlers, but those of us with families don't have much of a choice right now.

I have a mini van because it's the only vehicle that can hold all my children. I'm not getting a Suburban! Although that is the next step... Or one of those big vans they use for Meals on Wheels. :) You hit the nail on the head. It's nice to have an extra seat or two to haul kids and their friends to skating lessons. It's nice to be nice. Go Yvonne.

Because of soccer moms, I made it home from school everyday. But my workin' mom brought us in to school in the morning. Bless 'em all - it ain't easy to be a soccer mom, it ain't easy to be a workin' mom.
