The Random House College Dictionary sits upon my monitor and is often used. I also invite the sons to use it, but they say, "Why should we, when we have you?" It is good to be needed.

I would argue with them too. They would come into my apartment and we would have long conversations. They were HOT. That's mostly why. Awful, huh?

A-ha's second CD is actually really fantastic and I have been searching for it on Ebay to no avail. If I get it I'll let you borrow it. BTW, my kids sing that song '1985' and have NO CLUE who Springsteen & Madonna are. :-)

Dude, it sounds like you're starting on a protein diet. Let me be the first to tell you, protein diets don't work. They rely on your body's inability to effectively process nitrates as a energy source. Basically, you're fat because your body is very efficient as using carbohydrates to fuel yourself. So much so that you always have extras left over, which gets converted and stored as fat. Since your body cannot do the same thing with nitrates, theoretically you will drain your fat reserves and use that as energy as your body basically starves for carbonhydrates. That being said, two things happens to people who go on protein diets: First is your body readjusts itself so it becomes more efficient at using nitrates as an energy source and stores excess nitrates as muscles, second is your blood stream becomes flooded with proteins and your kidneys are forced to work overtime to clean it. Bottom line: That weight you lose comes back, and you risk kidney failure. This is besides the fact you increase chances of colon cancer because your intestines clean itself by expelling waste and it does not do that as effectively when the waste is mostly nitrates (Hence the constipation). My advice: If you're going to do this, don't maintain the diet for more than three months, or you're going to gain more problems than you solve.
