My perspective is that a diary is a very personal thing and it belongs to the diarist who writes it � including the notes and comments section. It�s okay to have a different point of view but diplomacy is a key ingredient of any communication. Bottom line - courtesy is always a good choice in life for reader and writer. As readers we get to visit someone else's world and thoughts and that gives us a duty to be respectful in our comments and notes especially when we are putting forward a different perspective. Speak so others can listen is what I say even though it is hard sometimes for readers and writers. Your blog is great by the way and I think you are absolutely right to differentiate between the two in the way you noted in your post as I believe that they can often be two totally different things. The blog is a good idea and it will allow you and your readers a good forum for more lively discussion.
