I look fat because I need to lose weight. No one BUT me can change that.. I talk about men in the same light that I talk about women. Neither gender of our species is perfect - if we were we wouldn't need God. I think the issues come when we can't ACCEPT the differences in the genders - Understanding and accepting aren't the same thing(you wrote that once didn't you?). I certainly don't understand why men do what they do. But on the same side I rarely understand why I (or other women) do what I(we) do. It's all part of being a living breathing person. SOOOO Dearest Christopher I reserve the right to bitch and moan about BOTH genders on an equal basis. (MYself included) *hugg*..

OWWWWWWW! I don't know what brought that on, but I, like many women, live in a house full of men (boys?), most of my friends are men, and I love them dearly. I defend them when someone insults their charachter. Women, like men, can choose happiness and contentment, and there are actually a large number of us that are intelligent, productive members of society. I complain from time to time, but I am thankful for the life God has given me and most days am just amazed that I have been blessed with the things that I have been blessed with. I am also thankful that chivalry isn't dead, and that most men honor the women in their life, even in a day and age when what we hear indicates the opposite. Soooo...I won't take your disparaging remarks about the female gender personally if you don't take my comment as a personal attack on this entry. You still hover at the top of my "favorites".

Paula, don't put words in my mouth. I wrote about tolerance vs. acceptance. Understanding an issue can lead to tolerance, acceptance as well as indifference, hatred, etc. I could go on about that for a while but I also know that deep down, no one cares.

I am totally guilty of the "male bashing" but in a humorous way, meaning no harm. I know it gets old and isn't always funny to you, but at least when I do it there is no true meanness behind it UNLESS it is directed at a particular individual and in that case: stupid comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and genders! I also happen to agree with the women choosing to be unhappy thing though. I think a lot of them whine and moan for attention. If anything, women annoy me at least as often as men do. It's not a gender thing, it's a human thing. I guess i'm not much of a people person. ;-)

Generalizations about groups is really funny! When it's about anglo saxon protestant conservative men, otherwise it's just plain wrong on so many levels.

Wait! I don't know how I missed this post. I'm a woman and I'm happy. I'm even married and I'm happy. I never "joke" about men. I love men. You will never a see a shitty post in my diary about men in general or about my husband. I believe that sort of thing says a lot about about the person posting than the person it's supposed to be about. The thing that bugs me about those so-called jokes is that they aren't funny and they're extremely hostile. I am a proud defender of men. As for the happy thing, of course I totally agree that we (as a species) choose to be unhappy.
