Sadness fills me for the person your ex could have been.

I feel sorry for that girl Angie you speak of, she must have felt so alone and alienated because of your family. I think you should really be saying "thank god I was never an orphan". It seems to me that your family really made her feel like a fifth wheel. Personally, I think people should be themselves, and if your family went to church every sunday, but felt the urge to pick on someone, isn't that being a hypocrite? Again, you should be thankful that you even had a family. I hope that "angie" gal is beautiful and successful now...I see time hasn't really worked in your favor.

No, I made her feel like a fifth wheel. It is one thing to think you want to help kids. It is another thing to do it professionally (I have for nearly ten years) and it is another thing after that to do it in your home, with your family, all the time. We did make the dumb kid feel welcome, we everything with her that we did ourselves and for a year and a half life was unbearable. I was happy to be a boy scout for one year old because that was two weeks of camp without her. It's also fair to note that she went through EVERY foster home in the system before hitting our house. Three times tried to burn down the house and took everything that she could carry when she left. She is not successful (nor beautiful) because in the home that eventually adopted her the trend of "no accountability for Angie" continued. Also, thank you for lying in your comment above, no one picked on her - later in life my sister and I have referred to her as 'stupid' and 'bitch' but considering the torment we went through I am surprised Drew and Erin haven't hunted her down. We could not have been kinder to her. If you read the entry and paid close attention it was about her behavior in church. It is also not "picking on someone" to point out that they had no sense of propriety or manners for being in public. I also do not consider it rude for a parent to stop their child from disrupting church serivices, plays, movies and other public presentations that people are trying to pay attention at.

Also, I am successful in life. Discipline does that to people, it gives them that edge they need to survive.
