four of the best kids i know are home schooled by an extremely strict, conservative christian mom. these kids are kind, smart, articulate and a lot of fun to be around. i don't really have a point, i just wanted to share that.

I know a family who is home schooling their children. The Mother is much too lazy to get up and take the children to school. I really didn't have a point either.

I can understand the temptation to homeschool. I don't think I would if I had kids. I wouldn't have the patience. They would miss out on so much. I shudder to think how I would have turned out had I been home schooled.

I am a homeschool mom. I have a theory about those who are socially backward. Some have a proclivity for oddness. Homeschooling doesn't cause this, it was there to begin with, and if the poor kid has a weird family chances are he's going to be a tad odd as well. There is a lot of ignorance surrounding homeschooling. "Missing out, bad social skills". It depends on the family I suppose. I used to be concerned about those things to. Maybe that's why I've made the effort to keep us active and involved. Maybe it wouldn't make a difference. Either way, I feel good about my kids and what we're accomplishing. And it sounds like you are a wonderful, caring teacher. If I could pick and choose, I would want someone like you to teach my kids.
