some lights seem eternal
in this springtime of hope

To protect us both from the Museum, the accurate directions were hidden from us. The Museum knew, as I did, if Spritopias & Co. were to have any culture it would be a threat to them. That is why the museums location remains safely anonymous.

Yesterday we went to the local art museum because they allegedly had an Andy Warhol exhibit. I say, allegedly, because as a New Yorker-in-exile I am still used to the state law stating that you need at least three Warhol pieces to say you have a contemporary art gallery, and calling three pieces of Warhol an exhibit underscores why the exhibition came at no extra charge.

My God Parents and Cousin A came up for the exhibit because Cousin A is heavy into art and the God Mother, as a librarian, is heavy into experiential learning. It was also my sisters birthday celebration days late. The day started off with a loop around my church of employments charity tag sale and then the museum. The trip to the museum was where the day was named, The Stupids Step Out.

Every metropolitan area is pock marked with construction and detours. Well-traveled roads needs constant maintenance so you are not so much annoyed by the detours as the person at the museum who gave you directions not sharing that information or that the person gave us the directions for the eastern approach instead of the western approach, as I had asked. I said to him on the phone, we will be coming from the direction on Danbury and he gave us the directions from Storrs.

Why did I call instead of map questing? I knew there would be detours because I have driven passed the area recently. The last time I had been to this museum, I had walked from Mark Twains house which is down two blocks. Mark Twain also features free parking something that I do not readily pass up in a metropolitan area.

Did I take pictures of the museum? No, I did not because it was raining. It was a spend the rest of the day damp & miserable downpour that umbrellas do not remedy and did not want to stand outside and snap off a nondescript building. This was not the Met, it was not special enough to be worth staying outside any longer than I needed to.

Also, I took pictures inside but they did not have a sign that you could not, which is the normative condition of museums. You can take pictures so long as you do not take pictures with flash. My aunt made my being asked to stop seem like I was escorted out. People where escorted, I was just asked to stop. I have been thrown out of places before, for the comedy, but I know the rules. Also, because this museum was terrible it was also devoid of visitors. My aunt insisted that I was being trailed by museum security, and I love it when that happens, but I was not. Guards stayed in their sectors. I have worked in enough schools and retail venues to know the signs of being trailed by security.

We had to surf the gift shop before we left, I got something for Dr. G. and Betty Already because they spoke to me. I was pleased with the gift shop over anything else in the museum because while it lacked anything phenomenal it was staffed completely by Star Trek extras (I was helped by a Vulcan!), so even if they were just as incompetent as anyone else in the museum they were at least interesting.

In more Habemus Papum news, my pastor told me yesterday that Benedict XIV is his cousin.

Also, in response to Pelosis good point that the Church needs to evolve to encourage membership, I disagree. Would you choose a friend or an organization that had ever-evolving views?

The problem with Roman Church growth in America is not based on dogma, but it has to do with the abuse scandals. All the issues that liberals call for reform with in other areas of the church are all things supported in other churches, which are growing, but they lack the abuse the scandals that the Roman Church has because we handle them differently. In my religious order youre immediately expelled and handed over to the police, I have some respect for the Roman Church in that they stand by their people, my order does not.

You would not want to be in an organization, or have a friend, who did was necessary to be popular. You want steadfast friends and organizations.

At Alex Vances insistence, I have created a visual guide to Spritopias. You can see the characters and in some cases read a short explanation of who they are in relation to Spritopias, here . It starts with me and continues on through other people. I think I stopped with my nemesis, Nancy Pelosi, at time of press.
