some lights seem eternal
in this springtime of hope

work a little harder, work another way

November 14, 2004
Each Sunday begins a new week and a new chance. This week can be better than the last. If I keep saying it, will it come true? Who knows?

Antiques are absurd. How much will you pay for my old junk when I am done with it? When my parents were here, we went antiquing many, many times because New England is steeped in history, and with that comes the opportunity to acquire artifacts.

There is something to be said for appreciating history, not just the wars and personalities in the parade of presidents and prime ministers but the lives of ordinary people as well. The craftsmanship of old is lost if you look at our smartly packaged Scandinavian domestic couture. There is little comparison between what we can purchase now at Megalomania Mart and what you could get then.

I think it is absurd to pay such astronomical, perhaps even prohibitive, prices for things that are essentially used and unwanted by others.

Now is the time on Sprockets when get ready for work.
